The Show must go on!

Kwaicore! Some would say that this sounds like the mating call of a bird… Well it is not, far from it in fact. Kwaicore is a genre of music that was created when there was a merging of two unlikely combinable music genres, Kwaito and Hardcore Rock. The mixture of these genres created a whirlwind of different sounds, the constant beat and rythmn of Kwaito, with the vocals and guitar solos of Hardcore Rock. This South African music phenomenon is what everybody wants to know.

Continuing our story from before, in downtown Joburg our two characters recovering from their rather unexpected clash on the pavement, gather themselves before what is too follow. He picks up his glasses that are now scratched, which is irrelevant as they serve no purpose. She checks her studded face with her palms before glancing up at this disturbance. It was Kwaicore at first site. The merging of two genres was born. It was music to their ears as their differences became their love and their Kwaicore. Their beats and sounds were seconds away from filling the street when both were pulled away from their genres, although their love was not to be broken.

South African Kwaicore Music

Welcome to a new genre of Kwaicore music. Kwaicore is a combination of styles, senses and movements. A combination of Kwaito and Hardcore Rock that has attracted opposites. For one moment imagine Newtown in Joburg, a vibey part of town that South African music thrives. A man and woman meet in between the entrances of two clubs. They bump into each other, thrusting the contrast of styles into a new music genre. The man, dressed up in chinos that are tucked into his All Stars and a collared shirt tied tightly at the neck by a red bow-tie, representing Kwaito. The woman, dressed head to toe in leather and studs, her face blends quite nicely with her metal studded jacket and boots, clearly a hardcore rocker.  His un-prescribed spectacles are knocked of his face whilst her pink tipped mohawk is as it was. With this, Kwaicore was nearly created! This action of forcing one genre of human creation into another was from then known as to be ‘kwaicored’. The actual creation of the sound of Kwaicore is still to come.
